The overall improvement in its optical design, ensures peramanent and undisturbed focus, Its highly accurate glass scale is divided to read angular degrees and also carries sugar scale in I.S.S. Units. The angular scale fom 0 to 360 degree is sub divided to 1 degree to enable direct reading to 0.05 degree and by estimation to 0.02 sugar degrees.

Used for measuring refractive index in the range 1.3 to 1.7 with an accuracy of 0.001 direct on scale and 0.0001 by estimation, Sugar percentage range of 0 to 95% with an accuracy of 1 % on scale and 0.1 by estimation can be measured. The appratus consists of an evaporating flask rotated by sparking induction motor in a heating water bath. Vacuum distillation of solvent at high and low temperature is achieved quickly and efficiently by use of a VARIABLE SPEED motor, which prevents foaming and bumping of the liquid (solvent) into the evaporating flask and also distillation under controlled atmosphere. The evaporating flask is pear shaped to give a large surface area of evaporation and is clamped to a glass duct which goes through the drive unit and protrudes about 120 mm. into condenser.

Construction: Double Walled, Inner Chamber made of Aluminium/SS 304. Outer made of MS duly Powder coated. Insulated door has viewing window. 75mm gap between outer & inner wall is insulated with high efficiency mineral wool. Temp. Range: Ambient to 90°C. Temperature controlled by thermostat / Digital Temp. Controller with air circulation (optional) for an accuracy of ± 0.5°C. Power supply : 220/230V AC, Single Phase. Shelves: Perforated 2/3 Shelves.

The casing is made of MS sheet reinforced with iron angles riveting. Front wall is made of Tl duly powder coated. Heating chamber consists of rectangular horizontal shape Muffle surro with Heating elements made of Canthal wire. Highly efficient light weight insulation of Fiber provided in the Furnace to minimize the heat losses.
